Verify Us and Avoid Loan Scams

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Scammers sometimes pretend to be real lenders to collect fees or personal information. Here is how to check that you are really dealing with Datung, and what we will never ask you to do.

1. Check That We Are Licensed

Datung is the business name of Dark Knight Lending, Inc., a lending company registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Lending companies in the Philippines need an SEC Certificate of Authority to operate. Ours are:

  • Corporate name: Dark Knight Lending, Inc. (formerly Dark Knight Analytics, Inc.)
  • SEC Company Registration No.: 2024070157507-01
  • SEC Certificate of Authority No.: 3506
  • Office: Unit 10-01, One Global Place, 25th St. cor. 5th Ave., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City

To confirm this yourself, go to the SEC website at www.sec.gov.ph and look up its list of lending companies. Search for "Dark Knight Lending, Inc." and check that the Certificate of Authority number is 3506. Older records may show our former name (Dark Knight Analytics, Inc.).

If anyone offering you a loan in our name cannot give you these details, or the details don't match, don't deal with them.

2. Our Official Website and Email

  • Website: our application website is datungapply.com. Before you type anything, check the address bar. A look-alike address, with extra words, a different spelling or a different ending, is not ours.
  • Email: emails from us come from an @datungapply.com address or from sales@datung.io. Sign-in links in our emails open a page on datungapply.com.
  • Phone, SMS and messaging apps: after you apply, we may contact you about your application. If you are not sure a message is really from us, don't reply and don't open its links. Email sales@datung.io and ask.

You can always check where your application stands at datungapply.com/resume, using the email address you applied with.

3. What Datung Will Never Do

  • Datung never asks for any fee or payment before your loan is released. If someone asks you to pay a "processing," "release" or "insurance" fee first, it is a scam.
  • Datung never asks for your password or one-time code (OTP), and never asks you to forward the sign-in link we email you. Those are for you alone.
  • Community Heroes never collect money or documents. Community Heroes are our referral partners. They may introduce you to Datung, but they cannot approve a loan or change its terms. You upload your own documents on your own checklist page at datungapply.com.
  • Datung never promises approval before reviewing your application. Every application is reviewed by Datung, and the interest rate and all charges are disclosed to you in full before you sign.

4. Report a Suspicious Message

If a message, call, website or social media account uses the Datung name and doesn't match what is on this page, don't pay anything and don't share your personal information. Email sales@datung.io with:

  • a screenshot of the message or website;
  • the sender's name, phone number, email address or profile link; and
  • the date you received it.

If you have already sent money or shared a password or code, contact your bank or e-wallet provider right away, change your passwords, and let us know. You can also report lenders you suspect are unregistered or abusive to the SEC through the channels listed at www.sec.gov.ph.
