Check rediscounting

What is check rediscounting?

Check rediscounting, also called PDC rediscounting or PDC financing, gives you funds now against post-dated checks your customers have issued to your business. You get the cash to restock and keep supplying, without waiting for each check date.

It suits wholesalers and distributors who carry many customers on PDCs: the money is already promised to you, it just isn't usable yet.

How check rediscounting works, in practice

  1. Your customers pay you with post-dated checks.
  2. You apply with Datung and present the checks during review.
  3. We review the checks and the customers who issued them.
  4. If approved, you receive funds now. The terms, including what happens as each check clears, are set out in your loan documents before you sign.

FAQ

Check rediscounting questions

Straight answers about check rediscounting and applying with Datung.

What is a PDC?

A post-dated check (PDC) is a check dated in the future. Many Philippine businesses pay their suppliers with PDCs, so the supplier can only deposit the check on or after its date.

Do the checks have to be from my customers?

Check rediscounting is for post-dated checks your customers have issued to your business as payment. Tell us about them in your application, and we may ask to see them during review.

What documents do I need?

Just 3 things: the application form, typed online in about 10 minutes with nothing to print (we generate the Loan Application Form from your answers), 1 valid government ID, and your latest 3 months of bank statements. Everything else, such as a business permit, proof of billing, financial statements or an ITR, is optional. Add it now if you have it, or later if we ask. See the full business loan requirements.

How fast will I get an answer?

After you confirm through the email link and upload your documents, a credit officer reviews your application. We aim to give you a pre-approval within about 1 hour, then a credit officer visits your business, usually within about 2 hours of pre-approval. We aim to give you a final answer within 12 hours. Times are during business hours. Applications that come in at night start at 8 AM. These are our aims, not guarantees. If it's a no, we tell you right away so you can look at other options. If it's a yes, you sign your loan documents and receive your funds. See how our loan process works.

Will I be approved?

We can't promise that, and we don't promise the highest approval rate. What we aim for is a fast, clear decision, because business is hard and opportunities don't wait. Every application is reviewed by a credit officer, and if it's a no, we tell you right away.

What interest rate will I pay?

The interest rate and all charges on your loan are disclosed to you in full before you sign, so you can decide with all the numbers in front of you.
